Knitting Season!
This is absolutely my favourite time of year. Cooler days, all the gorgeous colours starting to appear in the trees and we get to wear all our lovely hand knits and crochets.
Well what have I been up to… obviously I’ve been drooling over all the new season yarns and patterns, actually I’ll be bringing some Rowan lookbooks and shade cards with me on Friday (Magazine Heaven… yaaaaayyyy… check out the events page for details) for you to browse over.
We have three regular knit events happening which I’m very excited about. It seemed to take so long…. If you don’t know about them hop over to our events section where you can see everything we have booked at the moment. I always try to post up new events on Facebook and Instagram but it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on the events page.
We also have some fab workshops booked and more in the pipeline so I hope you’ll be able to join us for some of those.
I’m very excited about our intarsia cushion workshop, firstly its in a new venue which I really like. The Art&Soul cafe in St. Neots, it’s a great space and yummy food. Secondly we’re using one of my favourite yarns, Felted Tweed, with patterns from one of my favourite designers, Kaffe Fassett! This will be a great class and will suit pretty much any level of knitter.
It did occur to me that not everyone knows what intarsia actually is…. its a method for creating blocks of colour in your fabric without the need to strand the colours. It’s a fun technique and creates some beautiful results!
I hope I get a chance to see you at some of these events.
Oh btw! If crochet is your thing keep your eye out for news of another class being announced shortly.
